Hello fellow foodies. Half way through January already! Considering the popularity of our Simply Greek Sauces I thought it might be an idea to do a blog on them to tell you more about them, how you can use them in your everyday cooking and how they can add delicious flavour to any dish!!!
We have 5 different flavours to choose from
- Tomato with Thyme
- Tomato with Basil
- Tomato with Feta
- Tomato with Chili
- Tomato with Garlic
The Greek tomato is known the world over simply because of its flavour and taste maybe this is one of the reasons why our customers love them so much.
Each jar contains more than 60% tomatoes and in some they contain more than 80% tomatoes in each jar!! They are natural, full of flavour and best of all contain no artificial preservatives or flavours!
Method
I can’t really decide which one is my favourite but top of my list is the Tomato with Garlic for eating straight from the jar!!! This is superb as a dip or even spread on a cracker. Last week I roasted some sweet potato and added a dollop of our Tomato and Garlic and it was fanatic!!
I also love using our Tomato with Feta mixed with cous cous , salad and poached eggs!!! Don’t forget a sprinkle of chili flakes!
Another great idea if you are entertaining – Try mashing up 500 grams of feta. Add it to a saucepan and add half a jar of our Tomato and Feta sauce then a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil and some chili flakes. Heat up the saucepan and let the feta melt and stir in the sauce. Once all the feta has melted add to a bowl for the perfect dip!
Our Tomato with Basil has such a wonderful taste of basil that this or the Tomato with Thyme is perfect in any pasta dishes. I would recommend that you don’t use the whole jar as the flavour will be too strong but mix it with some passata sauce!
Another great idea recipe that all the family will love is using our Tomato and Basil as a pizza base. Generously add to the base and then add your toppings!!! You can substitute this with our Tomato with Chili either for those who like their pizzas with a bit of a kick!
