The Soul of Crete was established by Petros and Catherine Konsoulas in 2015. We are an artisan company located in Fenagh, Co. Carlow nestled in the foothills of Mount Leinster. We are an Irish company bringing the Taste of Greece to Carlow! We pride ourselves on sourcing premium Greek products to suit the Irish Market. You can find us at our weekly farmers markets every Thursday in Kilkenny and every Saturday at Carlow Farmers Market.

Our extra virgin olive oil originates from Crete which is world famous for being one of the oldest sources of olive trees, some trees have been producing olives for 4,000 years. The history of the Cretan Olive Oil dates back to Minoan civilization which even back then, formed part of their daily diet. Crete is located between the three continents of Europe, Asia and Africa so the unique climate is one of the main reasons you can find the best Olive Oil in the world. Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil has now won more than 33 Global Taste Awards and is one of a kind in Ireland.
Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil ‘Oleum’ is produced by the Kidonakis Brothers G.P. (established 1983) located in Messara, Iraklio, Crete. It is produced from the finest Koroneiki Olives in Crete. It is distinguished for its rich and fruity aroma, as well as its high nutritional value. Forming part of the daily Mediterranean diet, Extra Virgin Olive Oil has many health benefits some of which include being high in healthy fats, low in saturated fats and high in antioxidants. Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil is perfect for salads and can also be using in cooking.

We produce our own tahini in Ballon, Co Carlow using a secret family recipe which gives the tahini a delicious smooth taste with a nice aroma. Our tahini is perfect for making hummus, using it in stir-fry dishes, can be added to porridge or event used as a spread along with some Cretan Honey. We stock a delicious range of seasoning mixes herbs and spices, balsamic vinegar, olives, tapenades and a range of sauces/dips.
